The South Coast Story
Commercial architectural fountain and building facade lighting at night

In the 1980s, our founder owned and operated Odyssey Fountains, a commercial architectural fountain business based in Houston, Texas — engineering, selling, and renovating large-scale fountain systems for commercial and institutional properties. He also served as a manufacturer's representative for a large fountain equipment manufacturer, carrying one of the era's finest lines of fountain equipment and architectural lighting.

Years of firsthand experience with how fountain equipment holds up — or fails — under constant water exposure led him to design a complete line of architectural fountain equipment, engineered specifically for long-term durability and ease of maintenance. That line went into production and was ultimately sold outright — equipment built well enough to stand on its own.

Architectural lighting was always the part of the business he loved most: the interplay of housing, optics, and materials it takes to make a fixture perform reliably outdoors for years, not months.

Decades later, that same eye landed on residential landscape lighting — and found the same gap that once existed in fountains. Commercial-grade equipment exists for large properties. Nothing built to that standard has existed for a homeowner's landscape. Until now.

South Coast Outdoor Products exists to close that gap — commercial quality lighting engineered for residential landscapes, built on decades of experience designing equipment meant to survive outdoors.

Our Engineering Philosophy

Every South Coast fixture begins as an engineering exercise. Our products are designed with the same principles found in commercial lighting — precision, durability, serviceability, and repeatable performance — but engineered specifically for residential landscapes. Every dimension, material, and component is selected with one goal in mind: creating outdoor lighting that performs beautifully for decades, not just seasons.
